Synopsis |
---|
Analyzing and correctly interpreting experimental data
plays a key role in the modern world, all the way from
basic research to finance. A physics student will likely encounter
statistical data analysis for the first time in his first lab course.
In this lecture we will discuss the basics of statistical
data analysis and applications of statistics in physics.
During the practical exercises we will apply data analysis
methods using the ROOT
data analysis package.
.
The lecture is part of the curriculum for the "Monomaster" in physics but is well-suited for bachelor students starting from the third semester. |
