Since release 308 Brahms supports the new common data model and
storage model LCIO. Output of hits is realised in the LCIO
data model. The reader is referred to the LCIO manual for a detailed
documentation of the quantities stored, and for methods to access the
information.
The hits file contains also information about the detector geometry used in
the simulation. This is read by the reconstruction program an used
to build it accordingly.
For backwards compatibility the old method of storing hits etc in
Brahms has been retained. The following documentation is only
concerned with the old method.
