AMANDA-DAQ - Setup Information for 1999

TRIGGER

Following trigger are used in 1999:

Name / Reg-Bit / TDC-Ch / Description
- AMANDA-A 0 490 Amanda-A
- AMANDA-B 1 491 MainAmanda-B
- AMANDA-AB 2 492 Amanda-A&B
- AMANDA-S2 3 493 SPASE-2
- AMANDA-ST 4 494 String
- AMANDA-Bsc1 5 458 Downscaled LowMultiplicity

Following extra DAQ-TDC channels are used:

- MainTrigger (FinalTrigger after OR) - 457
- "Laser"-Trigger (not used in Winter) - 456

The Trigger Thresholds are set to

DAQ Configuration file.

The detector-configuration file is the master configuration file read by the DAQ at every runstart.
It is written to the header of every binary data file.
The detector configuration file defines essentially all detector specific configuration parameters:

As an example for a configuration file, we give standard detector configuration file as defined in February 1999.
It gives the standard 1999 DAQ mapping for all electronic to readout channels, as used since February 1999. Note, that the configuration file was redefined by the WO's around August, 20th, 1999, after 2 ADC's 7164 died.

For any raw-datafile you are working with, you can obtain the current configuration-file stored in that rawfile using the reader with --extract-config flag:
If the datafile is "ab_1999_xxx_yyy_zzz.data", then
cat ab_1999_xxx_yyy_zzz.data | reader99 --extract-config=this_configfile.cnf
returns as "this_configfile.cnf" the current detector-configuration file.

F2000 Channel Definition for reader99/98

The reader98/99 is mapping the electronic readout channels (electric/optical/trigger/additional) to f2000-Channels, following simple rules given in the table below.
The detailed mapping of all electronic readout channels is defined for every individual channel in the detector-configuration file, as given elsewhere on this page.

The mapping rules are as follows:

Type of Readout Channel

OM Number

F2K-Channel Number

Primary Channel Readout

(one readout per channel,
is either electrical or optical)

i=1...428

j=i
=1...428

Double Readout

(parallel electrical readout
for 15 selected st11-13 optical channels, since 2/1999)

i=303...428

(15 Channels)

j=i+10000
=10303...10428

Calibration Double Readout

(LeCroy3377)

i=311...336,353...358

(32 Channels)

j=i+500
=811...836, 853...858

Trigger Channels

(All Trigger Times,
for mapping see above this page)

8 TDC Channels

456-458, 490-494

Rate Monitoring

We read the following trigger rates into a VME-Multiscaler SIS3808, 200MHz/32Chan
(operated in the normal SN settings mode, incl. DT):
