Cultural Events

On September 12, 18:00 a bus will bring the workshop's participants to Erfurt, the nearby Capital of Thuringia, right after the end of the session. We will visit the famous Erfurt Cathedral and climb the stairs to see one of the largest bells of Europe, Gloriosa. After this we recommend to have dinner in smaller groups in Erfurt's historic center and to get back by train to Weimar from Erfurt main station.

On September 13, 16:00 we will visit Goethe house at Frauenplan in the historic center of Weimar. Guided tours in English will be provided for the living house in three groups of about 20--25 persons at 16:00, 16:15 and 16:30. The collection dealing with Goethe's work shall be visited on individual basis. Other museums, as Schiller house, Liszt house, the Bauhaus Museum and the collections of the Palace and Castle of the former Dukes of Saxe-Weimar are close by.
