Afterwards excursion through the city of Berlin by bus.
Potsdam became royal residence and the virtual capital of Prussia under King Friedrich the Great. It is famous for its vast ensembles of palaces and gardens. Cecilienhof Palace was built at the beginning of this century as the last palace of the Prussian kings for the Emperor's son Wilhelm and crown princess Cecilie in the style of an English country seat.
Cecilienhof Palace was the scene of the Potsdam conference of the Allied leaders Truman, Attlee and Stalin in summer of 1945 which settled the architecture for post-war Europe. Before the banquet, the conference rooms will be visited. There will also be some time to walk in the picturesque Neuer Garten and enjoy views on the nice lakes.
