Schedule and some hints for the Hamburg trip

Thursday, August 26

After the last QCD lecture we start to Hamburg. For some detector
reason I probably go already in the very morning, so here are some
details how to go by train to Hamburg.

- via S-bahn to Berlin Ostbahnhof or Zoo, trains go nearly once per
  hour, see schedule in www.bahn.de. I would recomment to take one of
  following trains:

  Ostbahnhof/Zoo    Hamburg Hauptbahnhof
  14:11 / 14:25     16:50
  15:30 / 18:00

- from Hamburg Hauptbahnhof use S-bahn Nr.1 or 11 to Othmarschen

- go to the bus station and use bus nr.1 to Notkestrasse/DESY

- go to the entrance and ask the guards for your housing place,
  for this you have to fill a corresponding form and get the key,
  the guards have also maps where your hostel in the DESY area is
  located, (be careful - the house number in the map is not the
  hostel number, hostels have separate numbers from  1 - 8)

- have a dinner and prepare the next morning ... breakfast in the
  canteen is possible since 7er clock

- may be I'm free from detector work and we can go togethe, in this
  case I will announce a meeting time & location




Friday, August 27
=================

-  9:00 official PR tour (accelerator control room, DORIS, TTF)
        meeting place is the lobby of building nr.1 (main physics
        building vice versa the canteen)

- 10:30 HASYLAB tour
        building 235, room 25B, K.Rickers/St.Roth


- 12:00 lunch in the DESY canteen


- 13:30 transport to HERA hall North, H1
        meeting point is the parking place vice versa the canteen,
        just outside building nr.1

- 14:00 H1 tour / K.Hiller

- 15:00 walk via the HERA tunnel to HERMES

- 15:30 HERMES tour / P.di Mezza

- 17:00 Official end of the DESY tour


Return day - Friaday/Saturdau/Sunday

- select a train which is convenient for all members of your ticket group
  ATTENTION: we have group tickets according the return day you replied to
  my questions. The group ticket is valid each day, BUT all members of the
  group have to use the same train, and stay together. Otherwise you pay a
  private return ticket (~ 50 EUR).
