Registration
Arrival will be on Sunday, April 09, 2000.
We would like to ask you to register on arrival at our Welcome Desk at Hotel "Berghotel Bastei" after 4:00 pm.
The welcome reception will be at 8:30 pm.
The conference meetings start on Monday morning at 9:00 a.m.
Payments
Payment at the Workshop Secretary and of
extras
at the restaurant should be made in Deutsche Mark (DM).
You may exchange easiest
foreign currencies on arrival at an exchange office at the airports, where also
traveller cheques (in US $ or Deutsche Mark) may be cashed.
Traveller checks (DM)
and Eurocheques (ec) may be used for payment or chashed at the local bank
office and
the local post office up to DM 400,- + bank handling.
If not possible otherwise
currency exchange of European currencies (convertible in Germany) and US $
may also
be done during the working hours of the local bank office of "Sparkasse".
Location and Hotels
Accomodation will be both at "Berghotel Bastei" and "Landgasthaus Nicolai" at Lohmen.
From Lohmen, a shuttle service is provided to the conference site. Both are *** hotels. We would like to remark that the parking place at "Berghotel Bastei" is extremely limited; please inform the organizers if you will participate by car.
Travelling
Bastei can be reached: By car:
Use one of the free-ways leading to Dresden (A13, A4).
From the East
the free-way A4 shall be left at exit Ottendorf-Okrilla
and turn to Pirna.
Cross Elbe river there and drive in direction Radeburg to the
North of the periphery of Pirna.
From the West or from A13 use A4 and exit at Dresden Altstadt.
Drive further to Pirna.
Cross Elbe river there and drive in direction Radeburg to the
North of the periphery of Pirna.
Then drive to Lohmen
passing Radeberg
following the
signs.
At the signs, "Bastei" is marked as a historic site (brown background).
By plane:
Dresden offers frequent flight connections to a series of the big
European Airports. Please check the schedule
here.
You may use the
Airport bus to Dresden Main Railway Station and then proceed as described
below.
A taxi
to the conference site "Berghotel Bastei"
(not to be interchanged with
the Bastei hotel at Dresden down town!) is about DM 100.
By train:
Take a train to Dresden Main Railway Station.
Change there to the S-Bahn direction
Pirna/Bad Schandau and leave at Pirna.
We strongly recommend to take a Taxi in
front of the station then to your hotel (about DM 30).
In principle, from the bus station in
Robert-Koch-Strasse there commute a few times a day also busses to a
bus stop near the Bastei, from where the conference site can be reached by
a short walk.

In case you want to use a bus
please ask at Pirna Railway Station how to reach the bus stop
Robert-Koch-Strasse. It is a 5-10 min walking distance away.
Departure:
On Friday 14, 2000, there will be conference bus leaving after lunch to Pirna
Railway Station.
