A cyclical process

The process defines cycles of eight working weeks. This gives about 4 cycles a year.

At the end of each cycle a new release of the system, fully documented but incomplete should be ready. The initial phase, before the cycles begin and the first cycle have has not gone as we had imagined as we had seriously underestimated the complexities of the human interactions in getting started.

The model is evolutionary, with short cycles of development followed by a review of what has been produced, so that management gets rapid feedback on the progress of the project.

There is a need to balance the need to allow individuals freedom to contribute at the same time keeping control of what is produced and its quality.
