Positron Polarisation in Zeuthen

The polarisation of both beams, the electron and the positron beam, at the International Linear Collider (ILC), will be advantageous for exploring both new physics as well as testing the Standard Model with unprecedented precision.

We are involved in several research projects to study the possibilities for the production and the measurements of polarised positrons in the framework of worldwide research and development activities for the ILC.

As members of the E166 collaboration we are participating on an experiment, that plans to demonstrate the method to produce polarised positrons using a helical undulator. Within the EUROTeV project (WP4) we are studying the positron source, positron capture and positron polarimetry more general.
